Have several documents encrypted with WIN XP encryption. The hard disk went south and no longer boots. Loaded fresh XP on another hard drive in same computer, making it the boot disk. I can now see the files from the other non-bootable drive in windows explorer. However, it will not let me decrypt or view the files. I used the same XP password as the old hard drive thinking that might work. It does not.

How can I access these encrypted files on my old hard drive? Please help!

Well, I learned to make a copy of my private key and keep it somewhere safe. I am still trying to make my old drive bootable again, then decrypt and copy all documents to another media. Thanks for the info.
