Guest Hernan Batista Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Hi friends, we have a W2k3 server installed from a "ilegal cd from the street", I mean, without purchased license (bad work from the last IT mgr) , since I´m working here I already purchase a new legal License of W2k3 R2 with 40 CALs and I´m planning to install it on a new server to act as DC replica of the existing domain. My question is: when I configure the new server as DC replica, what happend with my CALs legaly buyed? all the clients will work without problems?
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Re: CALs on DC replica Hello Hernan, If you don't talk TS CAL's no problem, there is no control except your own responsibility to have all needed licenses fro clients/users and servers, so that you can provide them if you are controlled from MS. The only licenses that are really controlled are the TS Cal's with the TS licensing server.
