We have so far successfully set up a couple of new thin clients using Windows

XP Embedded. The only problem right now is with a newer vb .exe file that

needs to be run on these clients. We have an older version of the program

that runs fine, however this newer version of the program gives the error

"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this

computer." The only new function to this program is that it uses MSComm for

serial port communication. I recall that there is a setting in the group

policy that can restrict this. Could this be the problem and if so, where in

the policy would I locate this setting?

Thanks for the information
