page file on USB stick?

I notice that my page file does not seem to be often used by XP Pro. Can I

move it safely to a large capacity USB drive? will it work? I have XP Pro,

2G Pentium 4 , 1.5G SDRAM.

No, Windows does not support pagefile placement on removable drives.

For starters the USB device will be unavailable at the early booting

stage when the Session Manager creates the pagefile and secondly the

accidental removal of the device would almost certainly crash Windows as

well as potentailly lead to loss of user data/user files.

Leave the pagefile at default in location and size is my recommendation.
