Guest Me Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I like to organise my program menus and favorites in non alphabetical order. Each time I restart my pc they go back to alphabetical order. How do you stop XP and IE 7 from sorting menus and favorites in alphabetical order? Thanks.

This is dumb but it is functional: Someone else mentioned that you could rename the items to: 01 - xxxxxx 02 - xxxxxx 03 - xxxxxx etc. This way it would sort by the #'s. Its a bit of work if you don't find anything better. There have been other threads about this, and you might look at some of the internet explorer groups rather than a windowsxp group.

Guest pseakins Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Re: Stop alphabetical sort in program menus and favorites This is a new thing. My PC only started doing this about two weeks ago. It's driving me up the wall. Almost every time I reopen IE6 my favorites have been sorted alphabetically. Prior to this, favorite sorting had remained stable for years. Something in my XP system has changed to cause this new behaviour - but what? -- pseakins

Guest pseakins Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Re: Stop alphabetical sort in program menus and favorites Sure, I could do this, but that won't tell me WHY it happened. Everything used to be ok. Suddenly it changed. WHY? -- pseakins
