Guest davew Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I have XP Pro. I have problems playing some DVD's, CD's. I get a message I need to install a 'compatible decoder'. I found a decoder download (xp code pack 2.3.8) at codecs.com. however, I can't install it because I get this error message, "C:\windows\system32\pncrt.dll can't be updated please reboot your pc before install to avoid this problem". I did that, but it didn't help. I searched MS website for updates as best I could, but didn't find anything. Does anyone know how to fix this ? ? Much thanks in advance davew
