Guest soup_or_power@yahoo.com Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 We are going to host 3 VM's on a 64GB server. The host OS is going to be some version of Windows. Does it have to be a 64-bit OS like Win2k3? Also: if 64-bit Win2k3 is used as host, do the VM's have to be 64-bit OS as well? Is the RAM going to be partitioned into 2 GB for each VM? Thanks for your help.

The memory is going to be allocated to 3 VM's equally i.e. 2 GB each. The host OS for installing the VMWare is going to be some version of Windows 2003. Since the memory is going to be 6 GB (> 4GB) do we need a 64-bit Windows 2003? Also, do the VM's have to be 64-bit IF the host has to be 64-bit Windows 2003? Thanks for your help

Consider using the /PAE switch. >Also, do the VM's have to be 64-bit IF the host has to be 64-bit >Windows 2003? You can use Windows 2003 Standard edition. hth DDS <soup_or_power@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:fc7c1bb1-93cb-49ae-b71f-12384c205ce5@z24g2000prf.googlegroups.com...
