I need to buy a GPU, would you please recommend me which one to get based in these specs: - Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz - 2 Gb RAM DDR2 667 Mhz - Intel D945GCCR motherboard - PCI Express x16 Intel says my motherboard has a 800 Mhz FBS. If you have a look at the various cards on offer, they nearly all tell you what the minimum system power supply rating should be to run it. To advise further we could do with knowing what the existing PSU is rated at in watts or W, and if you are prepared or can afford to upgrade that at the same time. Nev. I want to know what's the best graphics card I can get without creating a "bottlebeck effect" in my processor. I've read that it doesn't matter how good your GPU is if your processor can't keep up to it. Quote

It is your money and should be your choice. It depends what you want to use the card for and how much you want to pay. Nev is correct when he mentioned the upgrading of the PSU. It is the PSU that supplies the card with the power and if it is falling short due to it's limited output your graphics will suffer. It depends on the requirements of the individual card. Read the reviews and select the best card for the money you wish to spend. Regarding PSU. 400W is probably OK for lower lend cards but if you are upgrading then 650W is probably a better bet. This is just a generalisation - it depends on the card you select. Let us know which card you prefer ( if you are using onboard graphics then you should see an improvement with any of the PCIe x 16 cards listed ).
