I want to wipe my hard drive and start from scratch, my files are all backed

up but I need to create a startup disc so I can start up windows once the

systems clean, anyone know how to do that in XP??

Re: Re-start CD

 

The Windows XP CD is bootable, you just put the CD into the CD-ROM and

restart your computer. See this link from my website:

The above is the standard way of loading XP assuming you have a full retail

version of the product. If you have 'upgraded' from another version of

Windows and you have an 'upgrade' version of XP you will need to install the

original operating system first before upgrading again.

 

If XP came pre-installed on your PC when you purchased it you may have

'recovery' discs. If this is the case check your PC user manual to see how

to re-install from recovery discs.
