Guest didds Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 running chkdsk on xp media (fujitsu-siemens laptop) - nees to run at reboot etc ... selected fix errors etc Restart laptop and chkdsk starts... verifiying files (stage 1 of 5) completes easily, but stage 2 (verifying indexes) is stuck at 0% completed... nothing appears to be ahppening at all. Thoughts? Is it just this hard drive on the way out? ian
