Have tried but I am unsure of how to do this correctly does anyone have the exact procedures to use to accomplish this. Thanks in advance Drew

While a repair installation of XP should preserve your data and installed programs, there's no guarantee. That said, take a look at these two articles for more info. So I will just have to hope for the best with the reinstall. Greatly appreciated. You may have to take ownership of the files in order to gain access.
