LLTD Info
by Guest Bobby Johnson- 0 replies
I have discovered several things about this LLTD situation. 1. the v5 version of the file will only install on SP2. 2. if you have LLTD installed before you apply SP3 the LLTD files are updated to the SP3 versions. 3. there is a v6 installer for XP SP3, but you have to request it from Microsoft. 4. if you need LLTD on XP x64 or Server 2k3 x64, get the files off a Vista x64 system and install them as noted in the link for installing the v5 package on SP2. Spread the word. I don't understand why Microsoft is making it so difficult for people to get LLTD on XP, 32-bit & 64-bit, and server 2003.

by Guest Chris Cowles- 2 replies

VPC 2007 has download options for 32-bit or 64-bit OS. Does that 64-bit version support a 64-bit virtual OS? Or does it support only 32-bit even if run under 64-bit Vista? Thanks in advance. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL

How do I organize my programs in Start Menu?
by Guest shorb- 0 replies
Using Win XP Pro. I would like to put all my Adobe programs into a folder in my programs area on my Start Menu. And do the same with other groups. But I can't seem to find all those programs when I go to the "start Menu" area of Explorer. Also, how can I make it so it *always* opens all programs in the Programs area of my start menu, instead of just recent programs. Thanks, chris

Here's an issue that I cannot solve. System description: Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DS5 with 790FX northbridge and SB600 southbridge Processor dual core AMD 6000+ (x15 multiplier, real processor clock = 3000 MHz) 4 GB DDR2 800 memory in two sticks Vista x64 SP1 All Processor and memory settings in BIOS are set to auto, BIOS is the latest one (F6) Problem description: Every time I resume from S3 (suspend to ram) state the clock multiplier awakes changed to x10 instead of x15, making the processor work at 2000MHz (or 4000+). This is reported so by both CPU-Z and AMD Overdrive and no other parameter (memory, FSB, etc.) seems altered. AMD Overdr…

CreateThread()
by Guest quincy451@yahoo.com- 0 replies

Testing CreateThread() on windows XP x64 to see how it differed from windows XP 32bit. Well on the 32bit version I created about 3100 threads and then what happened what I was able create more but they just never seemed to get serviced. Now on windows XP x64 here is the surprise...I create 1562 threads successfully. After that I get a GetLastError() value of 8 out of memory. I tried moving the stack down to 4096 where somone else had a tested CreateThread result of 13000 threads on some version fo windows. But I got the same 1562. What might be up? Thanks, David

Audio Problems on Vista x64
by Guest Bobby Johnson- 4 replies
Last night when I tried watching some video news clips online I could not hear the sound because it was very, very low and I wasn't able to find anyway to increase the volume. Windows sounds seem to be normal and the Realtek HD audio control seems to be playing the test sounds correctly. I have Vista x64 on a Biostar TA770 A2+ with a Phenom 9600+ and 8GB RAM. This seems to have just suddenly happened. I did download the latest Realtek HD driver, but that didn't seem to change anything. I'm open to suggestion.

I've recently installed win XP 64-bit , and I've noticed that one cannot edit a mp3 file information in it , (when u right click on the file and click on properties)there isn't stuff like artist, composer , lyrics , etc. U can just find track number , title and comments , and when I try to edit those , I recieve this error : a disk error occured during a write operation And also when u put view mode to details in a music folders , informations r not shown as if there isn't any. If u search a bit on the net u'll find that everyone gots the same problem with 64-bit xp. It's very annoying , I wonder if there is any solutions for it. thx ;)

Interesting article on BetaNews (see link below). Funny, I have not had a problem finding 64-bit drivers at all. http://www.betanews.com/article/Microsoft_claims_a_consumer_shift_to_64bit_Vista_but_where_are_the_drivers/1217520942

Here is a couple of answers? Jim
by Guest Jim- 0 replies

Thanks, Jim don't know of any product called Office 2002, but Office 2003 installs just fine. I'm running it, lots of others are running it. You'll need to be more specific about how you're trying to install it and what the error message is for us to help, but I don't know of any significant issues. There's one printer-type driver that doesn't work, if I remember correctly, but certainly nothing major. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel Wasn't Office 2002, actually labeled Office XP? That is what I had, I did not bother trying to install in my Vista Ultimate 64 bit though, I found t…
