Hi, Can anyone help? I just purchased a 64 bit Windows Vista Home Premium machine and I can't install Microsoft Office 2002 or 2003. Is this normal and is there a workaround? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Vista beta removal on multiboot disk
by Guest - Bobb -- 2 replies

I have one PC with X64, XP and Vista beta 32/64 on it that currently uses "Vistaboot Pro". Since Vista beta no longer needed/wanted, any way to remove those beta partitions/boot info and have XP and X64 'go back to using old ( non Vista) boot loader info' ? I DID copy the boot info from C (X64) into another folder prior to installing Vista, but it's been so long since I messed with loader I've forgotten what to do (BCDEDIT etc) ! ( I could wipe/reinstall X64 and XP but would like to avoid if possible)

Indexing network drives with Windows Vista 64 Home Premium
by Guest Vista64User- 5 replies

What version of Windows Vista allow you to do an indexed search on data on networked drives ? I am running Windows Vista 64 Home Premium on a Quad Core machine, and when I attempt to add a networked drive to the list of indexed locations, it doesn't let me. In the HELP, Troubleshooting Problems with Searching, it says: TOPIC I can't add a network location to the index. Only files and folders located on your computer can be added to the index. This means that network locations will be searched more slowly than files on your computer. In other words, it doesn't index the network drives...it has to search in real time when you make the request. Do …

Win32k.sys blue screen
by Guest piccolo- 0 replies

I recently installed a Windows 32-bit virtual machine on my Windows 64-bit OS machine. I have been getting some blue screen crashes (lots of blue screen and words that Windows has shut down to recover from a serious error) since then and I would like to know if it is the Windows 64-bit real machine or the Windows 32-bit virtual machine that has crashed. Since I have to physically re-boot, I assume it is the real machine. The technical information on the crash screen is as follows: win32k.sys STOP:0X00000050(0XFFFFFA802B611000, 0X0000000000000000,OXFFFFF97FFF,7F664,0X0000000000000000) WIN32K.SYS ADDRESS FFFFF9FFF17F664 BASE FFFFF97FFF000000 Datestamp 47e0…

Help: no Explorer Navigation buttons or menus at top of My Documentsin Windows XP x64
by Guest wrreisen2- 3 replies

Hi, Please help when I open "My Documents" no Explorer Navigation buttons (back, forward, up a folder, search, folders, etc) or menus (file, edit, view etc) at top of My Documents in Windows XP x64. The same if I download something and then say open folder. I find it most inconvenient for navigation. Is there any setting to make them have these controls. If I start explorer.exe it has these controls. Up until recently I had these controls on all the windows I wanted them on. I don't know if I've changed a setting to make the disappear or if it's one of the many updates that I've downloaded that has caused this. Thanks for any advice.

While watching on line movies my computer lags badly. It just started happening a couple of weeks ago.My CPU usage is only 24% and I have already tried going to my computer / properties and clicking on best performance. This did not resolve the problem. I was made aware that using a registry cleaner can be very harmful (to your computer) in the hands of an inexperienced person user (like me.) Should I run a spy ware scan? If so which one should I use?Help !!Thanks.
