Re: Command line parameters and output for CoreWin. Damn good programmers are hard to find these days. Can't use pmars-server with the pipe line command as follows: Batch file d:\test.bat: d:\blabla\pmars-server warrior1.red warrior2.red > d:\output.txt The pipe only works if in the current folder otherwise it won't work ( output.txt empty). Not sure if it's a windows xp 64 bit issue or a pmars issue. Bye, Skybuck.

Hello, I just got my Vista Ultimate DVD from my university. It is a student/faculty version and it is only 32bit version on that DVD. Is there any way I can upgrade it to 64bit edition. It is not an OEM or Retail DVD. I found out that my CD-KEY will work with both 32 bit and 64 bit editions (one at a time) but i can't find 64bit to install. Is there a way to order a DVD or Download from microsoft? Thank you in advance, Iuri

XP pro x64 crashing constantly 1 2
by Guest NYTELTECH- 28 replies

I'm hoping that someone out there will be able to help with this issue: About a year and a half ago, I decided to build a PC. I thought I would go with the newest and best hardware I could find (in my mind). Long story short about hardware is that I got an A-bit AW8D motherboard, 64 bit Intel LGA 775 Processor 3.73Ghz, and 2Gb Corsair memory. I have an older Cd-rom drive that came off of my old system - a samsung combo drive, the traditional floppy drive. I have 2 HDD's - one is 250GB, which I use for storage of the things I can't live without (kids' pictures, videos, music collection), you get the point -- This HDD is just storage. My OS resides on …

puzzled in Application manifest
by Guest Jeremy- 9 replies

Got from MSDN that there's an element - assemblyIdentity in the application manifest which describes and uniquely identifies the application owning this application manifest. What I'm puzzled is following attributes with this element: 1- processorArchitecture (optional), which specifies the processor, x86 for 32-bit Windows; ia64 for 64-bit Windows. If my application needs to support both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows how should I specify it? 2- type (required), which specifies the application type and must be Win32 (not sure if it works on 64-bit Windows) I generated an application using Visual Studio 2005 and extract its manifest using mt.exe but canno…

Hello, My real name is Kenneth. I bought an HP m8125x it suports 64-bit but the company only gave me 32-bit I contacted them and they say thats all they give even if I wanted a 64-bit Disc. So I was wondering is there anyway I can get the 64-bit OS without haveing to goto retail and get 32-bit all over again with it? I tryied calling 1-800-642-7676 but they wanted money for me to ask them questions so I hung up I mean... HP was free service so going from a free service to one thats 59cents a minute is rather intence expecially if they keep me on the line. None the less...thats just alittle redundant complaint so try not to comment on that hah. I just w…

Most new PCs shipped without Windows Vista in 2007 According to Bill Gates By Egan Orion: Tuesday, 08 January 2008, 12:28 PM IN HIS KICKOFF keynote performance at the CES 2008 show in Las Vegas on Sunday, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates proudly announced that the company sold more than 100 million copies of Windows Vista in the first year of its availability. However, InformationWeek shrewdly notes that, while that's a little more than 10 per cent more copies than the upwards of 89 million copies of Windows XP sold in its first year starting in late 2001, the PC market has almost doubled in size in the interim. It quotes Gartner that PC shipments to…

Win XP x64 not recognizing all 8 gigs of ram
by Guest Aaron- 7 replies

Hi, I currently have 4 gigs of ram on my s5000xvn motherboard. Everything has been running fine for more than a year. I just purchased 4 more gigs of ram. So I have four 2gig sticks. Sloted A1, B1, C1 and D1. When I put the new ram in the C1 and D1 slots the computer asks me to boot into safe mode. But it will not boot in safe mode. So, I verified the ram works by replaceing my existing ram with the new ram in the A1 and B1 slots. And it works. When I have all four sticks in the Bios recognizes 8 gigs of ram on the board. Supertalent suggests it is an operating system issue. So how can I get windows xp x64 to see all of my ram. The said I may…

We are setting up our new environment with our hosting providers. We have a Quad Core Windows 2003 Server with 12 GB RAM We have a Load balancer with 2 web servers and a database server. The website and the code are stored on a SAN. The problem we are facing is that the app pool takes very long to load > 20sec We have another dual core windows 2003 server where it loads in 5 secs. This is a 64bit database server at our current hosting provider. we noticed that the ASP.NET Web site takes really long to load. When comparing it with load tests we did on our current server it loaded in under 5 secs. To time the load, I recycle the application pool and …

I'm running Vista Ultimate x64. I had 4GB of memory installed and just upgraded to 8GB. When I started the computer with the new memory sticks, I got this message: "The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum." I booted from the Vista DVD and tried the Startup Repair but it says it did not detect any problems so it won't repair anything. What can I do? Please help.

Motherboard/Chipset to support 4x1 GB DDR400 RAM
by Guest Richard Giliberti- 7 replies

I have 2 TwinX2048-3200C2 Matched memory pairs from Corsair with identical XMS3202v1.1 versions. I was misinformed with my initial purchase of a Soyo KT880 Dragon2 V2.0 motherboard. I am now seeking a 64-bit motherboard/chipset combination that supports the full 4GB of RAM at the rated DDR400. After thoroughly reaearching the matter, I have discovered that AMD processors with their embedded memory controller do not support 4 rows of DIMM's at DDR400. I am unable to definitively discover if there is the same limitation with Intel's 915 chipset. I need this for a workstation to run multiple VM's for testing. Does anyone have hands-on experience with …

Network Diagnostics for Windows XP
by Guest Al Ankers- 13 replies

You're not alone. However, these guys giving you advice haven't got a clue. MS has a problem they are not addressing. The problem is not with IE7, because it affects Mozilla also. I'm using XP home on my desktop and so far my laptop with the XP Pro hasn't been affected yet! When XP Home hangs both browsers stop working. Also the "Network Diagnostics for Windows XP" menus disappears so that you can't test the connection. The only solution is the standard MS solution, when all else fails, shutdown and start again. It works every time until today. Be sure you have a a valid restore point to go back to if you need it. We will have to wait for MS to create…

I'm using Windows Vista 64 bit software with 2 internal hard drives, C and D. The icon on my D drive suddenly changed in Windows Explorer. The icon now looks like a control panel ison, not the standard icon for a hard drive. My C drive and external disks icons remain okay, it hasn't changed. Anyone know how I can bring back the original icon of my D drive? Thanks. -- JG
