by Guest Ron- 7 replies

I'm running Vista 64. IE 32bit freezes on certain web pages including my preferred home page. IE 64bit runs it fine. Is there a way of making the 64 bit version the default browser over the 32 bit version? I've tried the default program window and selecting iexplore.exe (64 bit) from program files but it doesn't take hold. The 32 bit version continues to be the default. Thanks.

Vista 64-bit. The problem is nVidia and multiple displays, cloning and different resolutions. Asus nVidia GeForce EN7600 GS Silent with DVI and VGA connections (would now prefer 2xDVI, but this card is otherwise 'okay' for now). Using nVidia (Vista 64-bit) 163.75 drivers. DVI-Samsung SyncMaster 940BW (+ monitor driver) 19" 1440x900 native resolution LCD. VGA-Wacom Cintiq 12WX (tablet-interactive pen display) 12.1" LCD 1280x800 native resolution. Dualview - different resolutions. Clone - can't use different resolutions, and changes the primary monitor native resolution down to 1280x800. Dualview is okay sometimes, but this is an interactive pen displ…

Well guys, this is it! Tomorrow I will be flying to Buenos Aires and on Monday the physicians will see what they do with my Apical Schemia (that clogging in my heart output) and maybe put the "stent" thing over there. I will be offline and maybe post back on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending when they throw me out of the Clinic. My daughter has high-speed Internet (3 Mbps) in Buenos Aires and will use that until I can return to Rio Grande. Have a great weekend everybody. Carlos

Windows Updates
by Guest Callaise- 3 replies

Ok I'm having a few issues with Windows Update on Vista Ultimate x64. I didn't have any of these issues with 32 bit. First is Windows Dreamscene. For some reason, even after installing correctly the first time, it's still showing up in my available downloads list and never fails each time I try. Second is the language packs. The majority installed correctly but for some reason Danish, Dutch, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Norwegian, and Serbian (Latin) are failing every time I try. Third, every time I click on the More Information link, for example, http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=81071 (this is the link for supposedly more information on the J…

I recently upgraded my computer to Windows XP pro x64. My computer is having problems recognizing my camera. When I hook my camera up, i hear the "ding" sound and a box will pop up asking me "what do you want windows to do?". Now on my previous computer I was able to pick from a list of options. NOW, all i get is an empty box with no options at all. I even went into controlpanel/camera&scanner/ and click on "adding an image device", and the computer will not find it. I have read other threads regarding Real Player...I tried that. and even uninstalling the program. Nothing seems to help. Any ideas? I can manually put the pictures on …

Error code 22 when using F6 to install third party RAID Driver
by Guest Nicholas Lessard- 2 replies

Hi there, Can somebody tell me what means "Error code is 22" when you want to install a third party RAID driver when installing Windows XP? My system (an ECS RC410L/800-M (V2.0) with a Pentium D 2.8GHZ Supporting EM64T) runs fine on the 32 bit version of Windows XP (and installs fine too) when I use the drivers supplied on the driver CD that came with my motherboard. Now I want to upgrade to the 64 bit version of this OS (U use SolidWorks and the 64 bit version is better for performance and stability). There is a 64 bit bersion of the RAID driver for that board on the motherboard CD but I can't use it to install my RAID driver, I always …

XP Home, XP Pro x64 Dual Boot single SATA drive
by Guest PaulTMaack- 1 reply

I had Home installed, and i installed pro 64, and i can get it to boot into home, but when i try to boot into 64, it gives me that ntoskrnl.exe error everyone knows about. i checked the boot.ini, and it said both boot paths were cool, but i changed the x64 boot path to scsi(0) instead of multi(0) for a second, saved it, and checked boot paths again. it said neither of them were valid now, so i changed it back, and checked. it said neither were valid. At this point, i figured i was screwed, so i just restarted the computer, and was able to log into 64 (yay) but then i updated to SP2, and restarted, and again i get the ntoskrnl.exe error. any ideas what i s…

Hello all, I've a Windows Standard 2003 x86 server acting as a Print server. I have shares for all our printers and now that we are adding some 64- bit terminal servers to our environment, I would like to install the 64-bit drivers to the print shares. I have been able to add the x64 drivers of our Xerox printers by going to "Sharing" tab of the printers and clicking on the "Additional Drivers". Then I selected x64, point it to the x64 drivers for the printer and then point it to the x64 Server 2003 CD to get the ntprint.inf file. The problem that I am encountering is when I try to do the same with our HP printers. When I do the same process, I keep ge…
