  9. Hi all, I am trying to work on (another, kind of based on the previous one that I created a few days ago) text editor, and I am attempting to create a custom renderer for the application. I've been looking over the code from MSDN, and so far I've only been able to get the menubar to have a custom background. I also want to render the toolbar as well, but it seems that there's nothing there at all for it;* All that I see is "RenderToolStripBackground", and all that it does when I render it (using the code below) is format the Menubar.* I want to do more than just the menubar. *** Private Sub CustomProfessionalRenderer_RenderToolStripBackground(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripRenderEventArgs) Handles Me.RenderToolStripBackground******* Dim b = New SolidBrush(Color.FromArgb(255, 64, 64, 64))******* e.Graphics.FillRectangle(b, e.ToolStrip.Location.X, e.ToolStrip.Location.Y, e.ToolStrip.Width, e.ToolStrip.Height)******* b.Dispose()*** End Sub The link to the code from MSDN: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.toolstripmanager.renderer.aspx (In before "Use BackColor";* I want the program to have a unique appearance but not crazy >_>) More... 10. Had to do*a Vista custom reinstall. Would like to use the programs that have been archived in the Windows.Old folders. Since they are not coming up on the current Programs there is no option to Repair or Change. Would prefer NOT to reinstall everything if there is a way to use them directly from the Windows.Old archive. Some of the*simple,*smaller ones were able to be used by clicking on the exe or application directly - but the larger more complex ones (such as the Microsoft programs) were not the easy. Is there a way to use them without reinstalling them. Is there a way to make them show up in the PROGRAMS. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

  13. I'm looking for a multifunction printer with ADF, duplex printing, fax and ethernet connection (better if wi-fi) under 500$ but I can't find any good one. I read reviews about some HP models (c7280, c6280, l7780, l7680, l7650, m2727nf) and they all seem to have problems with the printer/scanner document feeders, have awful networking and bloated drivers that often stop seeing the printer and have to be reinstalled. I also read reviews of the Canon PIXMA MP830, and I read it drinks ink like it was water and when you use duplex printing it prints a "composite black" using the color cartridges wasting even more ink. the fax is unusable unless you have a dedicated line because it answers all the times and if the call is not a fax it gets dropped. then I went on Epson and Brother website but I didn't find any model with the specs I needed any recommendation? 18. You can try speeding up Windows Vista Shutdown process whenever the system is waiting to kill a process. The steps are as follows:1. Open regedit.exe2. Navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control]3. Change the value of “WaitToKillServiceTimeout” to 1000But as a reminder, do this at your own risk as sometimes the system really needs to wait for a process [...] More... 23. ... as in the title, anyone know how? Been bugging the crap out of me for months now, and even Rafael (of UXTheme fame) is stumped on the matter :O Just wondering if anyone here had any insight into a possible removal method? For those of you sitting there scratching your heads and going, "why would he want to do that?" It's because I'm SO used to just hitting the Windows key, then the first letter of the pinned application I want to run, that now the Vista search just makes the entire experience much slower overall. On Vista, I actually have to hit the Windows key, type "inter", wait for the search bar to catch up, and THEN hit enter in order to open IE. I'm not the only one who this bothers, so anyone who figures out a solution would be doing a lot of people a BIG favor :P More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds
  24. This is more a IPv6 question that Windows but it came up as I'm looking into moving some servers to Windows 2008.* So I' have a network with a Windows 2008 DC's and an IPv4 router to the internet.* What I stuck on is what address range should I use for my internal IPv6 network?* I need to pick a static for the DNS servers but am really lost on what address to use! I know there are Link-Local ranges that get assigned automatically, then there is site-local addresses which have now been depreciated so not sure about using them? So what do I use?* Feel like I'm missing some key part of the puzzle here! Stephen.* More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds
