So I've been looking at adding events to my cardspace "thingy". And I don't want to make it mandatory to accept them; nor do I want to have overrideable methods in a particular class (which won't work anyway, as we access that class via the base type, typical provider model stuff). So I thought about doing something like autoevent wireup in the base class; looking for methods of a particular signature in the provider implementation and adding them to the events if they're there. So I started to trace through the asp.net code. And it's worrying. it ends up in the system.web.regularexpressions assembly; in a class called CalliHelper; which reflector disassembles as internal static void ArglessFunctionCaller(IntPtr fp, object o) { *?(); } What the heck?! Hi All! I just came back from the MS 2008 Launch Event, and they gave us all Vista Ultimate + SP1.* Unfortunately, it's only the 32 bit CD, and I'm only willing to install 64 bit Vista (already have 64 bit home premium). I went to the site where you can order 64 bit media, but it wouldn't accept the product key as having a valid offer (since it's already Vista Ultimate). Right so I guess we've all heard now, silverlight for win mo and symbian. Great. Lovely. I can dig that. But can we just, for a second, take a step back here. Are you going to replace PIE. Please, please say yes. Everytime I use PIE a kitten dies, largely because I find one and strangle it to try and abate the frustration. Now ScottGu's references to a "Blend 2.5" in a blog post a few days back start to make sense. Personally I hadn't expected version 2 to go RTM so quickly. Laurent Bugnion (LBugnion) is tweeting from some sort of Microsoftie pre-MIX08 conference session*and has blogged all the details.
