It's still only possible to deploy your CLR objects (SP, function, trigger) to the dbo schema! That's an awful bug, how could that possibility not have been designed for? I have to move change the schema manually in the postdeploy script and reverse it in the pre deploy dito. That's so bad I don't have words for it. :@ My rage has been channeled, at least for the day. http://www.elonexone.co.uk/ The thing is at this price it's unlikely to be running Windows. Infact anything to do with Microsoft is unlikely to be anywhere in sight. This must be a worrying trend for Microsoft as affectly laptops are becoming so cheap the man in the street can afford to use them like commodity items, have more than one performing specific roles ... you can even have spares! Any not a Microsoft product in sight. So what do you think? Worrying trend or passing fad? More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

Hey folks, Rather than spamming the forums with each session notes, comments, etc, I'll use this one thread to post my recap of what I've seen so far with links to blow-by-blow sessions. Session Notes - Taking Xbox LIVE Arcade Games to the Next Level - Rules of Engagement: Blizzard's Approach to Multiplayer Game Design - WiiFit: Creating a Brand New Interface for the Home Console - Top 10 Interesting Nuggets from the Microsoft GDC Keynote Video Teaser Soapbox video of playing games on the Zune (for whatever reason it can't embed the video) Video: XNA Game Running on a Zune Interviews I'm hoping to get someone from Nintendo to talk about their WiiFit hardware, which I suspect will be very developer friendly (Coding4Fun .NET library hopefully). I'm also trying to talk to someone from Blizzard, ideally Rob Pardo tomorrow with any luck. I also want to talk to a few of the indy game developers. XNA Questions Now that you know about Xbox Live Community Games and the plans to enable game development on the Zune - Let us (Charles) know what questions we should ask the XNA team when we interview them. -Dan * More... I hope that those of you who were able to see the moon at night were also able to see the eclipse.* A full, red moon is as fun a way to watch our solar system in action. I can totally understand how it would cause fear and confusion in the distant past.* Especially if*they didn't understand how it works. And by 'how it works', I mean the way that*the moon is controlled by Wal*Mart and the rest of the capitalistic cabal. I'm just saying. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

Thought I would ask if anyone might have an idea on a problem I am having here with Flash 9 on Vista. Seems like Flash is somewhat slugish or stuttering on video playback. We're talking even some stuff on YouTube as an example. Haven't been able to track down the cause of this but here's what I do know thus far: - Tried to disable IE protected mode to see if that had any impact. It either had a hardly noticable or no impact. - Noticed a FlashUtil9e.exe running Task Manager. Still haven't quite figured out what this is, but thinking maybe some form of proxy for Flash? - Under XP it runs just fine. No performance problems whatsoever. - Fully uninstalled Flash (using Adobe's tools) and re-install. - Fully re-installed the OS from scratch (twice). - Seems to do just fine with everything else (even Silverlight) and gaming as well. How bad of a slow down are we talking? Something in the order that my 700 MHz PPC G3 Mac can sometimes outperform my desktop machine. Decided to stay quiet about it until SP1 to see if that may resolve it, but it didn't seem to do anything for the problem. System general specs: Windows Vista Ultimate (6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001) running on an Intel D845EBT2 (Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz) with a RADEON X700 Series and an SB Live! 24-bit WDC WD740GD-00FLA1 (10,000 RPM) on a Silicon Image SiI 3112 SATALink 2 Gb system memory More...
