  3. When applying windows update it went into a loop(message: configuring updates 3 of 3, do not turn off your computer) It would then reboot and get the same message over and over. I was able to restore from a point 2 days ago. I have disabled the auto windows update. I currently have 11 critical updates that I am afraid to install as it will problem cause the looping again. There was no way I can determine which update(s) caused the problem WHAT SHOULD I DO ? *** Email address is removed for privacy *** 859 586-1567 View this thread
  4. When I get my automatic updates, I always restart my computer when prompted. It says that they install, but then during the configuration process, the updates fail and my computer has to "revert changes". It's been about 2 months since an update has installed successfully. I always get the error code "800F0826" Some updates that fail include: -Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2779562) -Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2778344) -Update for Kernel-Mode Driver Framework version 1.11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2685811) -Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB2742599) -Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2792100) and many many more. Please help, I'm getting very frustrated! View this thread

  6. Thanks for your prompt response to my earlier question re upgrading to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Per the Windows Upgrade Advisor, my system will take the 32 bit version of Windows Professional 7 with my current RAM. Would I still get faster processing with Windows 7 than I have with my XP 32 bit? Thanks. View this thread
  7. Good Morning. First of all, here are my laptop's technical specifications: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&tmp_geoLoc=true&docname=c03000320 My laptop was purchased about one year ago, and has Windows 7 as the operating system. Everything was going fine until the last Windows updates. Basically, Windows 7 downloads and installs upadates automatically; and then asks for reboot. Yesterday, after Windows updates, while the system was rebooting this screen popped up: http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/3103/20130213365.jpg (Please read carefully what the system displays) After the this message appeared, I went to Hp Recovery Manager to restore the last functional state of my computer. But, as soon I go to Windows Update to re-install the upadates, and thus reboot the system the same screen pops-up. So, I definitely deactivated Windows Update, but I can't leave it in such state forever, I need to install the updates for Windows; but yet again I can't. Please help me to resolve this problem. The blue screen with the message keeps popping-up, and I can't do anything but restoring the system back. To the person that will definitely help me, I give my biggest "Thank You!" (Thank you Microsoft for your wonderful operating system full of BSODs) View this thread

  9. I'm running Fix-it Utilities Professional 12. The first time I installed it, Win Defender remained on and active. I'm having trouble recently with the CPU running @ Max, 100% continuously. In my search to find what is taxing the CPU so hard, it was suggested I remove and reinstall the Fix-it program. which I did using the downloaded removal tool. After the installation, Win defender appears in the task bar with a warning that it is turned off. I have tried to turn it on. Sometimes it comes on, sometimes I get an error that it timed out, and to try again later. Every time I reboot, it turns off again. Should I just leave it off? Now I have to figure out how to disable the warning I guess. Thanks for any input. View this thread

  20. Hello. I am using the Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS and the automatic updates is turned on. I never had any issue with the windows after the automatic update until couple of days. The windows update has performed 6 critical updates and after that, the keyboard is taking the alphabets as command shortcuts. For example, when I press "L" it locks up the computer and when I press R, the run dialog opens. I do have Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 edition and been registered. I did perform the complete scan and I did not see any potential threats to the OS. In order to get back my PC to normal mode, I had to perform the System Restore. I am not sure if same is going to happen after the update. Hence, I have not updated the OS yet. Please suggest me what to do and I afraid that there might be some glitch with the windows update which is causing all these issues. Regards, Raghavendra Raju Ambati View this thread
