Im afraid not. If she has lost the the cd that came with it and you dont have one that she made. You can buy another one from Microsoft or if you take it to a computer tech then they will do it for you but they will charge you =/ Hope it all goes well for you Dan

Welcome to free pc help. If like you said you cant get it to boot in safe mode or restore it to an older check point. The it sounds like your going to have to re format the drive with the cd that came with the computer. Warning! you will lose everything any pictures or files that are on the hard drive.

hello. This is caused by an incorrect thumbnail quality setting in the registry. Reset the values to defaults using TweakUI Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP Its the 7th one up from the bottom in the list. i know it says xp still seemed to work hope this works for you like it did for my friend. :)

I'm sure you have already but could you please check that the keyboard hasn't come out of it connecting port (just give it a little wiggle and a push) and then try pushing F8 on start up if that doesn't work restart it and try the F12 or del key

Ok you said you could see F12 writen on your screen could u push F12 i just want to see if your computer will respond to anything.

Depending what you will many use it for Apple mac are awesome, fast,never had mine crash on me, and from what i hear when people do have questions or problems the support is great too.

Ok, How many times did you try because you have only a max of 15 seconds to push F8? Also sorry i should have asked this in my first post is it a desktop or a laptop?

ok restart your computer and hit the F8 key which should then bring up a menu. Use the arrow keys to move down to boot in safe mode. and then come back here and let us know.

Hey becky. The same as BJD88 i don't quite get what the problem is. Taking a stab in the dark hear, sounds like you don't want to sign into msn on your son's xbox. to solve this problem turn on the xbox either let it load the game or let it go to the main page i.e. where it will show the lastest games, spotlight. Then follow the steps below: 1. click the xbox button on the controller. It will load a small box in the center of the screen. 2. go across two tabs to the right which should bring you to the settings tab. 3. then go down to account management 4. go down to windows live id sub heading and click it. 5. click change password ( type the wrong pass in) this will stop you signing into msn when using the xbox but it wont effect your son playing games online or offline. But it will then let you login into msn on the pc. All it will say when he first turn's the xbox on is unable to sign into msn it goes within 2 seconds. Hope this is off some help to you.

I thought about cloning the drive but because the graphics card is gone in the laptop i am unable to do it the way i know how. because its a laptop didnt think u could have a master and a slave drive. well i guess i could have one outside the the laptop like you would a portable one.

My friends graphics card has gone, so she is planning on buying a new computer but all her information she wants is still on her old hard drive i know i could remove the old one and put it into a the new working laptop and then save it to usb and the remove it and place the new and better one back in. I know there are alot quicker ways out there not just too where to start, so if u know of anyways could u let me know please. Thank you for any help.

go to this website Try Microsoft Office 2007 - Download Microsoft Office Software and re-download the trail that way it will repair any of the missing data for the program and you can either remove using add and remove programs or keep it.

Who is your internet provider and what is your router make and model please? Im with aol and when i sent up my new router i had to phone aol to get the to activate it for some unknown reason to me anyway and then restarted it and it worked like a dream. Another thing if you can't connect to the internet how are you typing this on this forum?
