Hi Ken thanks for replying. The thing is I can't get the key board to work until an os is running it just will not talk no matter what I do .Begining to think the way ahead is a new hd,reinstall and then copy all contents over. Loads of fun just what I need!
Hi all
I'll try and make a long one short, using Windows 7, the other night we lost power which crashed the system, my wife re-booted but because we have a multi screen set up the boot screen is displayed on monitor that was not on. Now we get to the prob. because she didn't see anything happening she switched off and on again leaving the screen at boot continue with 2 options return to normal boot and delete all recovery dater and attempt to boot. Ok now we get to it my keyboard will not communicate with the computer vie usb or ps2 so I'm well and truly stuck any ideas?
Thanks chaps
Neill
Hi Gadgi, I used to use Eset nod 32, never had a problem, not system hog like Norton, first rate detection and pretty fast scans. The only reason I now use MSE is it's free ( got to love a bargan!)

Older members will remember the desk calenders that comprised small sheets of paper with date, day and a thought for the day which you riped of each morning. I wondered if we should have one here, any way here we are with the first.
Never under any circumstances take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.:o

They realy 'aint a good idea mate, they can cause you a whole cart load of probs. I've seen people compleatly s.n.a.f.u a system after useing one.

Hi Ken,
No it was on there from start, her other Toshiba was the same. I also thought if I have a recovery disc format and go from there but lost my nerve when she said " Please what ever you do don't SNAFU it" so we've left it as is.
Neill
Sorry Ken I have no access to the machine as my daughter has it on a trip, but yes disc managementlooks like that (diferant GB's of course). The recovery partition is on D but dosn't take up more than say 10G, I assumed that I could have expanded C drive into D leveing recovery as a seperate entity but it 'aint playing ball. We have made a recovery disc from the partition so it's safe.
Regards Neill
Mornning Ken, the recovery partition is on D which is labeled data. The reason she wantedto combine the partitions is on her last Tosh. laptop the D drive would never allow any data to be stored. I couldn't shrink that one ether!.

Sorry ken, I just came across your reply by chance ( teach me to read every thing ) it's some thing like 211G can't tell for sure as she has it on a trip at the moment.
Regards Neill
