Guest andyec Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 I'm working on a friends computer who has lost his Admin id and password. What file contains the information for signing on as an administrator, so that I can make the changes to the pc he requests.

Boot the machine with a boot diskette from here: http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html then reset the Admin password to a blank. Next, ask your friend how many sets of keys he has for his car. If it is more than one, ask him why. No get him to treat his PC the same way: Make sure to have two Admin accounts and lock their passwords away in a safe place.
