Guest Sharpie Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 How do you remove the programs in the Control Panel - Add & Remove Program? I've removed 3 programs in the ad & remove program in the control panel and it said I had successfully remove them but it still shows them being there. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks BTW...Thanks to all of you who helped me rid my computer of viruses. I very much appreciate all your help and links. This is a great place to seek out help! Thanks again, Sharpie
Guest ksreek Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 RE: Control Panel - Add & Remove Programs The protocol is to use add\remove program which calls the associated Uninstall program of the software you have installed. If it fails to uninstall it stays there in the list . However at times even though if the software is removed for some reasons the entry will not be removed which is pretty simple to delete by using some third party tools like ccleaner that has the feature to do so. http://sheiky.net/tools/ccsetup201.exe ksreek JMVP -59365 MS Pcsafety Escalations v-6sreek@mssupport.microsoft.com Admin - http://www.virusresearch.info\forum "Sharpie" wrote: > How do you remove the programs in the Control Panel - Add & Remove Program? > I've removed 3 programs in the ad & remove program in the control panel and > it said I had successfully remove them but it still shows them being there. > Am I doing something wrong? > > Thanks > > BTW...Thanks to all of you who helped me rid my computer of viruses. > I very much appreciate all your help and links. > This is a great place to seek out help! > > Thanks again, > Sharpie > > >

If you find any that are you should be able to delete the key under\within Uninstall. However, removing registry entries can be dangerous and you should not remove any if you are not 100% positive that what you are removing can safely be removed.
