Issue networking XP and Win2k machines

Hello,

I am having an issue accessing a share that I created on an XP machine from

and a Win2k machine. I have a peer to peer network setup, wide open shares,

and am able to access a dummy share I set up on my win2k machine from my XP

machine. When I try to access the share on my XP machine from my windows 2000

machine I recieve the credentials pop-up. I enter the info for the account

that's logged in on the XP machine. Any info I enter returns a denied: user

access restriction error. The share is wide open and I'm an admin on both

machines. I have read something about creating identical accounts on both

machines but not quite sure. I don't know if its a firewall issue. Any

ideas?? I would be greatful. Thanks

Hello lca1630,

If you have a firewall running, stop it for testing. Also create the same

account with the same password on both machines. Also add both machines in

the same workgroup.
