Guest Rob Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 About a year and a half ago, I built an amd dual core system, and when vista came out, I installed windows xp pro 64 bit, and vista home premium 64 bit in a dual boot. Everything was fine for a long time. About a month ago I used the screen print option to capture a scrren shot in vista, and it froze up on me, and I had to use the power button to shut down. Now vista freezes up on me all the time, and I have to shut down useing the power button. The xp pro 64 bit on the dual boot works fine, so I am guessing that it is a vista problem. I now have all my parts to build an amd quad core system, but I want to make sure vista is not going to fubar on my new system. I do not want to go through with a dual boot install to find vista throwing me the bird. A see that asus has a beta bios update, that is 2 bios's newer than the one I have, but I am not feeling good about beta stuff. I was just guessing that mabye the bios needs to be updated. I would just can vista, but itunes only works on vista 64 bit, apple did not make an itunes for xp pro 64 bit. This is the system with all my music on it because I have crazy amounts of hard drive space in it. Anyone got any ideas?
