Hello, I have Windows 2000 Proffesional SP4 installed on my old Dell laptop.

I am getting an error message when I first logon that says the following:

"Error Loading c\WINNT\system32\uvbjjagl.dll... The specified module could

not be found".

Can someone guide me as to how to fix this problem, please. Thank you.

Re: Error Message During Logon

I'd say remnants of malware. The file is not part of the operating system

and does not belong there. Not to mention the suspicious name.

To fix it, run regedit32.exe and search for any and every instance of

uvbjjagl.dll, then delete it.

Thank you for your solution. Where exactly do I run 'regedit32.exe'?? Do I

get to it by clicking on "Start"; "Run" and then typing that in? Please

elaborte if you don't mind. Thanks.

Yes, that method works.

Exactly, and you don't even need to type the ".exe".

Thanks to all. I found one instance of that dll file in the registry. Once I

deleted it, I never received that logon error anymore. By the way FYI, the

system did not recognize the command you gave me of "regedit32". I just typed

in "regedit" and that got me to the registry.

Sorry I missed that miss spelling, there isn't an "i" in regedt32.exe

Re: Error Message During Logon

Under Win2000, regedt32.exe is the companion program

to regedit.exe. You need it to set registry permissions. It is

quite unsuitable for searching for strings - regedit.exe would

be the right tool (as you found out yourself).

Under WinXP the two programs are merged into one.

I recently had an extention to my antenna. Something I did not allow my

installers to do in UK. If the customer wanted extra antenna points an amplifier

was installed in the roof and cables started from that box.

I have perfect reception (I fitted the antenna myself) on all stations except

SBS on my old 1975 Philips TV. The Compro tuner for the computer was teed in on

the old cable and all stations are good except CH 9. I even get SBS.

It was so astounding that the antenna man asked me where to get such tuner from

as he had never seen the likes of it.

I guess he must be a new man on the job as he insisted on teeing in rather than

fit an extention box as I was prepared to pay for.

I expect that Ch9 is affected because it is on the end of the cable. With a stub

like that you get standing wawes at certain frequencies. That was discovered and

used with great effect by the Radar Engineers during WW2

Mmh. Even though it's currently winter in sunny Perth, you must have

received a bad overdose of sunshine. Responding to a Win2000

logon query with a comment on TV reception . . . Not quite your

usual standard - better stay in the shade for a while! :-[
