Guest Ms Simba Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I have had problems with Windows XP Pro64 not being compatible with my software. So much so that my nephew installed a virtual system on my computer so I can run these programs using Win 98. I am thinking about buying a MP3 player as I want to listen to audiobooks that I have downloaded (music also). I know absolutely nothing about MP3 players. My questions is: am I going to have problems downloading audiobooks, music, and videos if I am running Windows XP Pro 64?
Guest Alex Clark Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Re: Will I have issues with XP 64 for downloading music? Depends on the MP3 player, but I would think most major manufacturers have 64bit drivers available by now. If it's an iPod then I can't speak as to the compatibility of iTunes with XP 64bit, but I would expect it to work. If it's just a standard USB flash drive with an MP3 decoder built in then you shouldn't have any problems dragging and dropping files onto it. Guest Charlie Russel - MVP Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Re: Will I have issues with XP 64 for downloading music? For audio books, verify with the audio book source that the model you're looking at works. I use Audible.com, and mostly like it, but not all players work with the Audible rights management stuff. (This has nothing to do with XP x64 - it's stricktly the hardware compatibility of the player and Audible.) The iPods work well and provide a good experience with Audible. And with most downloaded music. I hate to say it, but I've gone over to the A side on this one. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "Ms Simba" <Ms Simba@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:501222B1-6F3E-4440-93C9-59E964F4F366@microsoft.com... >I have had problems with Windows XP Pro64 not being compatible with my > software.
