Guest Stu Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 I have a strange problem. In my Control Panel, I have two listings of "Add or Remove Programs". One does nothing at all when opened, the other opens, but there NO programs listed. Also, If I try to use Windows Update, it never finds Windows Site, I have to ctrl, alt, del and end the program. I ran a virus scan (Norton with the newest defs), nothing. Everything else on the internet works. What can I do to correctthis problem? I was thinking of reloading XP, but then I'd have to go through all the service pack updates, etc. and I don't know if even that will fix the problem. Has anyone ever heard of this? If it matters, I'm using IE 6.0.
Guest R. McCarty Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Re: Add or Remove Programs Never depend on any single Anti-Virus product to protect your PC. AV products have varying levels of detection and threats they cover. It's always a good idea to run one ( or two ) of the on-line scans from alternate vendors. I'd recommend the two following scans to double-check your PC: http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/ "Stu" <stumann1@mindspring.com> wrote in message news:NLuxk.41824$_s1.9996@newsfe07.iad... >I have a strange problem.
