Safely Remove Icon

Installed a flatbed scanner succesfully on XP-Pro but the "safely

remove hardware" icon is now stuck in my task bar. I've set it to

be hidden but would like to know where to go \ what to do to remove

it entirely since the newly installed hardware is working fine.

Ideas or suggestions?? Thanks in adavance

Re: Safely Remove Icon

Right click an empty space on the Taskbar.

Click "Properties in the popup menu.

Under "Taskbar" tab > "Notification Area", click the "Hide inactive icons" input

check box to select it.

Click the "Customize" button.

Click any listed item to get a dropdown list in the "Behavior" column.

Change any items you wish to "Always hide, Always show or Hide when inactive.

When done making changes click Ok > Apply > Ok.

Appreciate your quik response. I did what you described above &

yes it did hide the icon. I would prefer being able to remove

the icon completely from the task bar. Any additional suggestions

??

thanks
