Guest Ken Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I will be installing a new copy of Windows XP 64-bit in a few days. The package says it has SP2. I thought I would then install SP3,then use Windows Update. Am I correct that the updates that are put out periodically are the same for 64-bit as for the 32-bit versions? Or are there different updates for the 64-bit version? Thanks Ken K

Guest Carlos Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Re: Updates for Win XP 64-bit: same ones as for 32-bit? Right, use Windows Update. My only exception is hardware drivers updates. I always use the card/chipset manufacturer driver. Carlos "Ken" wrote: > Bobby Johnson said the following on 9/16/2008 9:26 AM: > > Two different animals! Yeah, WU has really had some issues in the last few months with hardware updates. Even worse if you're on a WSUS environment. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "Carlos" <Carlos@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:771FCEDB-32BE-475D-8FC9-28A1BDE8B332@microsoft.com... > Right, use Windows Update. > My only exception is hardware drivers updates. > I always use the card/chipset manufacturer driver. > Carlos > > "Ken" wrote: > >> Bobby Johnson said the following on 9/16/2008 9:26 AM: >> > Two different animals!
