Guest Bluex25 Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I rebooted Microsoft Windowsxp Professional 2000 using the CD. Unfortunatly I didnt know to save data for my drivers, and upon restart after resetting the basics my pc is slugish. Moving a window drags across the screen, scrolling down an internet page is enough to give you a headach. I went under Device Manager and found the following did not register and could not be updated. Multimedia Audio Controller, PCI Bride Device, SM Bus Controller, Video Controller, Video Controller (VGA Compatible). Im trying to find a way to update these so they can work. -- Bluex25 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bluex25's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/bluex25.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/window-2000-help/1055371.htm http://forums.techarena.in

Guest DL Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Re: Problems after rebooting Windows xp Professional There is no windowsxp pro 2000 Not that it matters particularly, If you clean installed windows you need to install the drivers supplied for your motherboard, or PC system. If you have no motherboard/PC system drivers disks, you would need to visit the hardware manufacturers web sites and download the specific drivers from there If your system is a large OEM, eg Dell/HP etc or Laptop visit the PC manufacturers sites, if a generic PC the individual manufacturers of the motherboard & Video card (if not onboard) "Bluex25" <Bluex25.3hc3zb@DoNotSpam.com> wrote in message news:Bluex25.3hc3zb@DoNotSpam.com... > > I rebooted Microsoft Windowsxp Professional 2000 using the CD. > Unfortunatly I didnt know to save data for my drivers, and upon restart > after resetting the basics my pc is slugish.
