AVG killed a file - now W2K says no access

heres the problem...

Yesterday I downloaded/installed the latest virus definitions for AVG.

Suddenly it said a CYGWIN executable - df.exe - has a virus and disabled access to it.

FYI - it runs just fine on other puters

and was running just fine on so called bad puter.

So I disabled AVG, but now W2K wont allow me access to the file.

Can someone give me advice as to how to fix W2K?

Yes - I have contacted AVG but no response from them yet.

Can you restore the file from the AVG virus vault? If you can, does it

still show up as a virus if you turn off heuristic scanning?

RE: Re: AVG killed a file - now W2K says no access

with AVG shut down..

when I try to execute it I get permission denied

I did a restore from virus vault and still get permission denied

I also tried renaming it and still get permission denied when tried to read it

can move it and rename but no read and hence no execute
