At last, WMP 64-bit can be used.

A multiformat x64 audio/video decoder is available here:

http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/ffdshow/

It is the x64 version of the well known "ffdshow"

This is the download link:

http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/ffdshow/ffdshow_rev1328_20070706_x64.exe

Take into account that, in order to use it successfully, you need the April

x64 Visual C++ redist which happens to be here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=eb4ebe2d-33c0-4a47-9dd4-b9a6d7bd44da&DisplayLang=en

Or directly downloadable from this link:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/d/4/1/d41aca8a-faa5-49a7-a5f2-ea0aa4587da0/vcredist_x64.exe

This version fixes the external subtitles issue.

There is no available changelog.

Enjoy!

You are welcome, Jud.

I guess the benefits of ffdshow x64 also extend to Windows Movie Maker and

DVD Maker, which are x64 apps.

This is very usefull, and a 'natural' for MPClassic.

Is this Vista only, or of general 64bit use?

Re: Give WMP 64-bit a life!

Well...

MPClassic is a 32-bit app which, by the way, is my most used player.

WMP64 and Windows Movie Maker in Vista x64 benefit from this decoder package.

There is no WMP64 in XP x64 so you won't see any use there with MS supplied

programs.

Any x64 program needing 64-bit decoders will use ffdshow x64.
