Re: Disk cleanup

It does not get that far. I mean it freezes before the "what to clean"

options screen appears.

Is that on the machine that is full of spyware and virus? If so get rid

of these pests before you address this issue.

Re: Disk cleanup

Sirius,

Can't you clean the machine manually the first time?

Example:

Open Internet Explorer

TOOLS menu | INTERNET OPTIONS & click the delete COOKIES/TEMPORARY INTERNET

FILES

Close IE

Then

START | RUN & type %temp% & press ENTER

Delete all of all that you can from there

Now, go back one level & clean the HISTORY folder

Next go to the WINNT\TEMP folder & delete all the junk from there too

Lastly, the Recycle Bin

If you have the .NET Framework 1.1 installed then this simple utility will clean

most of the above locations (except HISTORY folder) in one button click

It will speed deletion up for you

Re: Disk cleanup

The thing is, that a lot of files refused to go, even in safe mode. But I

managed to get them later with CCleaner,

like instructed by Maximus the Mad

http://www.freespaces.com/maxwachtel/removal.html

Thank you.
