Windows Explorer display mode

I set the display of all directories in Windows Explorer in the detailed

mode.

But there are several directories I prefer to be displayed in the icon mode.

I have been able to teach Explorer to show about 10 directories in this

mode, but not any more.

When I exit and reenter in the same window I have again the detailed mode.

Is there any way to set a greater number of directories to be seen in

the mode I like more?
