Hi:

Do 32-bit applications made for 32-bit Vista run without problems on 64-bit

Vista? Is it possible to run Virtual PC 2007 on 64-bit Vista and then run

Small Business Server 2003 R2 on that VM?

Thanks.

Re: 32-bit applications on 64-bit Vista

32-bit apps have a high degree of compatibility on 64-bit Windows.

It's not 100%.

In theory, the "Certified for Windows Vista" logo...

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/logo.mspx

....as the site says, ensures compatiblity with 32-bit and 64-bit

Windows Vista. Of course this does apply only to software carrying

this logo.

How about running Virtual PC 2007 on 64-bit Vista and then running Micorosft

Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 on that VM? Would this have any

compatibility problems?

Thanks.

Re: 32-bit applications on 64-bit Vista

You need to go to the Microsoft web site and look up VPC

2007. I don't think the VPC will support a server OS as a

Guest, but I may be wrong. I couldn't find anything

specific about it doing a quick check.

This web site: http://vpc.visualwin.com/ doesn't specify

Business version, but it no that Microsoft provides "NO

SUPPORT" for the Server 2003 in VPC.

Hi, Jibey.

You might check with other VPC users at microsoft.public.virtualpc
