Guest MrIdontknow Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 I just got Windows 2000 running on my system now after using Vista and XP. I have tried to make my PC recognize my dual-core processor, but it still does not recognize it.I already tried http://support.microsoft.com/kb/234558/EN-US/ but doesn't seem to work for me. Any ideas please?
Guest dc Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Re: Athlon 64 x2 + Windows 2000? If you just added the processor, check to see if the MB accepts the CPU. I had that problem with Intel by trying to run a Prescott instead of a Northwood. Got stuck with the duel core CPU. If you did just buy it, and it happens to be the problem, try to get an RMA asap. One thing to check is Task Manager to see if it shows as two processors. I've had dual processors back in the days of the Pentium Pro (like 200 megs, and I was flying on NT5). good luck, dc "MrIdontknow" <lol_otg@yahoo.com.br> wrote in message news:1184522233.017078.251710@57g2000hsv.googlegroups.com... > I just got Windows 2000 running on my system now after using Vista and > XP.
