Moving from an ABIT KD7A MB to a ASUS P5NSLI MB

I'm about to start building a new PC with an ASUS MB (SATA/PCI, PCIe, IDE,

etc.) from the remnants of a PC with an ABIT MB (IDE/PCI). The old PC has

W2K installed on its C-drive. I've been told it might be possible to do a

transfer of the OS, apps and data from the old PC to the new PC using

something like Norton Ghost or Achron (sp?). I would mount the old (IDE) HD

as the D-drive, and the new SATA drive as the C-drive. Is that true? I would

expect to have to find new drivers. Is that pretty much it? Where would I

get the drivers and how would I know which to find? Is W2K going to tell me

when I try to boot up on the new system?

It's tempting to do this if it would work, but my old PC has about 6-10 apps

to re-install. It may take a few hours to install, and some time to scrape

up data files. Suggestions?

Subject sound a little too hardware-ish I guess.
