He means it is still so unpopular that hackers don't see any advantage in

spending time writing a virus, and antivirus companies haven't written any

decent programs that will work on it yet. You get what you pay for.

Then you know nothing at all about Adobe CS3 if all you think it is for

is photo editing.

Therefore you should not be recommending GIMP as a replacement for CS3.

It isn't.

Taking your little pissing contest with Alias aside...

Whatever happened to simply using a computer? I mean seriously...

This constant calling Microsoft is ridiculous and in my opinion, should be

illegal what they are doing. Customers have paid for their product, the

only person they should be needing to call (beyond *tech support* if the

need arises) is nobody.

Microsoft really needs to find a better way to control their piracy,

which inevitably can't truly be controlled. Making their customers life a

pain in the ass is not really the most optimum solution I'd go for.

Hi Alias,

I tried it for about a year, and gave up. It's absolutely horrible.

The user interface was written by a non-human apparently.

The name pretty much describes the UI it provides. I guess

that is where the name came from. Why would anyone want

to open up N windows anytime they open an app, and then

have to wait forever for them to come up, only to get an app

this is a pita to use?

Hi Stephan,

The put up with it because they have no other choice. Most

people are only familiar with Windows programs, and after

they become an expert on them, they don't want to waste

their time retraining on a new program on a new operating

system. Most people spend years learning an OS, and the

tools they use on it. Who wants to waste a few years to

go to a new OS?

Despite what Alias says, if you are a seasoned Windows user,

and have never used Unix or Linux, or the programs on them,

moving to Ubuntu is just not an option.

Hi Alias,

Yep, you are 100% right. Unfortunately, most people don't have

several years to become familar with a new operating system and

the tools on it. After you have spent 2 to 4 years getting proficent

on Windows, and Windows programs, moving to another OS,and

losing 2 to 4 years of productivity is just not an option.
