Audio Record Problem - SB Live! Basic (WDM)

Hi all,

 

I hope that someone here may be able to help me resolve my recording

problem. I'm using the good ol' Creative SB Live! Basic (WDM)

soundcard and for the most part it's been very reliable in the past.

No conflicts listed in system information.

 

Speakers and headphones are working fine. I can play cd's, dvd's,

record and playback audio directly from cd/dvd/avi/mpg files etc.. The

mic and line in work, and any sound input to the mic/line input is

output through the pc speakers/headphone.

 

Problem: I can't record audio with any of my audio apps.

I even tried recording using the plain old Windows Sound Recorder, but

even that won't record.

 

The driver installed is:

C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\2gmgsmt.sf2

 

Any suggestions very welcome, and thanks in advance,
