Guest MS Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Hi, I have a phantom CD/DVD drive on my fully up-to-date Win 2000 Pro PC. It's listed in device manager under 'DVD/CD-ROM drives' as: 'ZE3506G VEZ242R SCSI CdRom Device' No drive named anything like that is on nor has ever been on my PC. Also I've never has a SCSI CD/DVD drive on the system though I do have a SCSI scanner. I have deleted the drive from device manager (and from 'Computer Management'), but I get a reboot pop-up and after the reboot the phantom drive is back again! Meanwhile my genuine DVD drive now won't recognize DVDs in it. Could the phantom drive be interfering? The only thing I can think of is I got a new mobile phone last week and connected to it using Nokia PC Suite (over USB) and some other mobile phone media browsing software called MobiMB. But the phone is no longer connected, and the USB port back to connecting to a printer as it has been for ages. Any ideas what I can do to sort this out? Many thanks, regards, etc..
