Guest ahbutler Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Greetings, I have a Windows 2000 Server that generates the following message when double- clicking the "My Computer" icon on the desktop. I have already tried what is described in MSKB article Q172223. This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in My Computer by clicking View and then clicking Options. Any adivse is appreciatted. Thank You Aaron

In addition, I also have noticed i get this error when trying to open control panel. Access to the specified device, path, or file is denied. I have scoured this machine with both shareware and commercial spyware scanners (Ad-aware and Psetpatrol), rootkit revealer from sysinternals, and two different antivirus packages (CA and Symantec Corporate)
