Guest Roger Fink Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I'm having two GUI problems in Windows 2000. Perhaps they are related. In my desktop computer, which is set up the way I want, I'm able to display the files within the Control Panel as large icons. This is the only folder I do this with, for the rest I use the details view. Additionally, in the quicklaunch taskbar, I can arrange the application shortcut icons any way I want. Both of these aforementioned settings remain reliably consistent. By contrast, the laptop is kind of rebelious. It only allows me to use the Details view for the Control Panel icons (I can change it but it always reverts to Details when reopened). Also, the same application shortcut icons are displayed in alphabetical order from left to right, much like those files in Windows Explorer are displayed in alphabetical order (I can change the order but it reverts to alphabetical when I reboot). I'm 300 miles from the desktop but I can fiddle with the laptop if anybody has any suggestions.
