What to build

I'm a fairly tech savy kind of person, but have been out of the scene for a

while. My question is about 64-bit machines vs 32-bit machines. While I see

there may be a few compatability issues, technically, should my 32-bit

software work on a 64-bit OS/machine? (ie. dreamweaver, flash, office xp,

fireworks, illustrator... etc.)

Yes, as long as it doesn't have any hardware like dongles, you should be

fine. If you go for Vista 64, there might sometimes be issues with proper

access-rights to folders, but that is usually easy to solve.

For the record, it is not very easy these days to buy a brand new

Intel or AMD CPU that isn't based on x64. The vast majority of CPUs

by these chip makers have been x64-based for a while.

That being said, *all* of these x64-based processors will happily run

your 32-bit OS of choice, if you so wish to use one. The x64 CPUs are

absolutely 100% able to run these OSs with no quirks or issues.

AND...

They don't need any 32-bit driver

AND/OR...

The installer is NOT 16-bit.
