x64 Drivers - Sony VGN-CR11GH

Hi

 

I bought a new Sony VGN-CR11GH laptop with Windows Vista Home Basic

pre-installed on it. I have installed x64 on another partition.

 

Please let me know where I can find the 64 bit version of the drivers for my

system.

You'll have to get 64-bit drivers from Sony. It's possible that some drivers

can be found directly from chipset vendors, but with most laptops your only

real source is the laptop vendor.

Hi:

Charlies's suggestion should be your first shot.

I could not find support for your model in USA, just in India.

The closest model in USA is here:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNCR110E&UpdateType=Everything

where you will find drivers.

If your VGN-CR11GH is a sibling of that one, you may be in luck because

audio and network are Realtek based (http://www.realtek.com.tw).

Check all those question marks in Device Manager and take note of what you

see.

Try to find drivers for those pieces of hardware.

If you still need help, just post back.

Hi. If this is what you have, you may have a great deal of trouble finding

drivers as it appears to have mostly Intel inside. You can check their site

for XP64 drivers for the various components.

Microsoft does have a generic HD driver based on the Intel format. See my

post below.

You may end up better off installing Vista64. Sony may be able to help you

swap your VHB86 for the 64-bit version.

If you run into problems with X64 try Vista 64, driver support is pretty
