Guest gchandrujs via WinServerKB.com Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Hi, I am using windows 2000 professional in a domain at office. I suddenly found after a week break that someone changed my most of the settings. I found that all the logged user profiles are found in c:\winnt\profiles folder instead of c:\documents and settings\ How is that possible and how can i change that. Please help Thanks in advance, Chandra -- chandra Message posted via WinServerKB.com http://www.winserverkb.com/Uwe/Forums.aspx/windows-2000-general/200708/1

It has something to do with the profile creation, maybe this article helps a littlebit: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000serv/reskit/distrib/dseb_ovr_atdv.mspx?mfr=true Best regards Meinolf Weber (Myweb) Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. > Hi, > > I am using windows 2000 professional in a domain at office. Guest gchandrujs via WinServerKB.com Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Re: User profiles location changed. Hi Weber, Thanks for your reply. By the way, its a desktop pc and there is no way to use roaming profiles. But since we are using around 100 PC in our network, only this pc (Win 2000 Professional) is storing the profiles in c:\winnt\profiles folder even if i try to login with a new domain user, the folder is creating only in that path only and not in c:\documents and settings. Any help to clear this doubt will be appreciated. Thanks once again Regards Chandra Meinolf Weber (Myweb) wrote: >Hello gchandrujs via WinServerKB.com, > >Do you use roaming profiles? The installation is more than likely an upgrade from Windows NT 4.0 hence the profiles location. -- Regards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup.
