Dalo Harkin Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 (edited) Right - Vista tip If you have upgraded hardware in Vista there is a chance that some of the drivers are still lurking and taking up boot time. Log on as an Administrator. open a command window (cmd.exe) type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 then Enter. then type devmgmt.msc. it will open Windows device manager. goto the view menu and tick the setting that says show hidden devices. it will then list all the hardware devices. right click on any you no longer need and select uninstall. This is very useful for add in cards and if you change keyboards and mice quite alot - try it and see what you come back with - well worth it. The above tip was from Custom PC Magazine.
