Win XP 64 or Vista 64

Im planning on buying a new computer soon I need advise on a few issues

before deciding my OS.

#1). Does running a 32bit program in a 64bit OS use extra RAM-Ive been told

(by an anon) source it doubles the ram usage?

#2). Are nVidia's 64bit drivers stable enough to play video games?

#3). Does Office XP run on either Vista 64 or XP 64?

#4). Can I download and try either of these products for a few days before

purchasing them?

Horsepucky. See any of my whitepapers or my blog on memory.

No opinion. I've been sticking with AMD/ATI. Primarily because they have

been more supportive and more responsive in the early days. Others here may

have other opinions.

Yes, though I think there were some minor problems with Office XP. Office

2k3 certainly runs fine.

Vista gives you 30 days before you have to activate. There was a download of

the trial of XP x64, not sure if it's still up on the MS site. If so, it's

good for 90 days, but upgrading to full copy requires running an install,

not just changing the PID.

Some games, some cards are good and some cards especially have problems.

Last I heard XP x64 is still available as a 90 day trial, Vista you have to

purchase. In the US I believe Microsoft does still offer a 30 day money

back.
