DISAPPEARING CD-DVD WRITERS

I am going through a few problems with disappearing cd-dvd writers. It's the

second time I uninstall some software and both times on restarting my cd-dvd

writers disappeare. I have a working solution

(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060/en-us) but wanted to know if there

is a permanent solution to this problem or do I have to sort it out I have

so far.

Working on with Vista Business 64x and software uninstalled were Coreldraw

Suite and Intervideo Suite.

Any idea and why it keeps on occuring and solutions?

Thanks

Andy

Benaglia:

No permanent solution so far though this problem is not new.

We have also seen it on Windows XP x64 long before Vista x64 was born.

Kodak EasyShare was also one of the offending applications that would

exterminate your CD/DVD's.

Never installed it back ever since.

Kue2:

Yeah. I'm aware of the newer versions but I have found I can live without

EasyShare.

Thanks again.
