Need to re-boot if router not powered at start

Very occasionally I am too late powering the router and cannot find a way of

"Preparing Network Connections" after the computer has started up.

I find that the network show that 29 packets have been sent and 25 received but

it is no use waiting for the email or trying to get results from Firefox. The

error message is "Network is down or DNS failed".

Is there a command which can be typed in which will allow the computer to

connect without having to re-boot, please.
